Players: 12
Setup: Create channels for 30m x 3m using cones. 1 ball per channel
How to Play: 1 player starts at each end of all channels. Ball is given to player at one end, and they have to get beyond the player at the other end to win the round. The player out of possession is attempting to win the ball and can then win the round themselves.
The winning player moves up to the lane above, losing player moves to the one below, therefore after a few rounds all players should land in a lane where they are equally matches with their opponent.
4 corners:
Technical: Ball control, 1v1, Foot Skills
Psychological: Decision Making
Physical: Balance, Running with ball, Shielding, facing up opponents
Social: Competitiveness among teammates
- Encourage players to be decisive when running at defenders, going at pace is easier than stopping the ball and facing them up
- Shielding the ball, getting body between ball and defender
- Correct method for facing an attacker up: Keep eyes on the ball, turn your body to direct the attacker the way you want them to go, jockey them into that position without lunging in.
