ball control – control with weak foot/back foot – then kick with strong foot
1) ball in the air, coach throw, player stop with foot, bring it down and then play – put them in a 4 ft square and at first get them used to it but afterwards get them to control it in the box. Then try with left foot.
2) Same again coach throw but control with laces, let drop and then play – again both feet
3) Same again but with knee
4) Same again but chest
5) Concentrate on the players positioning, if at front of box, move them to the back and explain
6) Now simple coach kick to player and player stop with inside then kick with same inside, then swap feet
7) As above but outside foot
8) 5 x different coloured spots behind square player is in, coach pass back, player pass back, coach shout a colour, player loops the colour and back but teach them to glance over shoulder to check where they are going which spot is where.
