4 teams of 3 or 4 on a 40x25 field. 1 goal box at either side of the pitch. The team attacks the other teams side and trys to score by passing into the team awaiting the ball inside the box. Once this happens the team who receives the ball then attack the other team and the defending team drop into the box. Play until a team scores 5 goals or for 2/3 minutes dependent on the success of the drill.
Progressions for the game:
Players should look for a fast transition in both attack and defense. Attackers upon receiving the ball should look to break through the defense as they are dropping back in to their own half and use the width of the field. If the counter does not break through the team should look to use the whole of the field to create another break by stretching the defense.
Defense should look to organize and cover the space to break down a quick counter attack. Players look to press the ball and force them to make passes back or sideways and cut out any through balls to goal.
