8-point Back Up Drill

DESCRIPTION

  1. Feeder begins the drill by hitting the ball out anywhere in the field
  2. Whoever fields it, throws it at the bowlers end stumps
  3. Back up players then throws at WK end stumps
  4. Next back up player throws at bowler's end stumps
  5. Finish drill with throw back to WK
  6. At each throw, players have to move off the ball and back up at each end
  7. Repeat

COACHING POINTS

  • Movement off the ball to back up the throw at each end
  • Set feet towards the target when throwing
  • Create the appropriate depth and angle for fielding and back up
