DESCRIPTION

Activity to help keeper practice cutting off a quick single OR potential run out when keeping back to pace. 

COACHING POINTS

 

  • Keeper in normal position keeping back
  • Batter standing at crease & nurdles balls in different points around the striker's end.
  • Keeper simply out of the box, gathers the ball and has a run out shot at either the batters OR bowler's end
  • Work on one side first because the pugg goals at the batting end will be used to back the throws up.
  • Batter calls the end keeper must throw
  • Ensure keeper practices getting glove off quickly.

Have keeper warm up using the correct throwing technique

Practice Run Outs & Keeper Throwing accuracy

Stop quick singles off pace bowlers

Modification could be to incorporate a fielder to run in over the stumps to take the throw
