Ground fielding and communication drill.
Coach feeds ground ball to square leg fielder who collects and shies at the striker's end stumps. Point fielder backs up and shies at the non-strikers end stumps.
Mid-on backs up and then shies at the striker's end stumps again. This is backed up by the deep slip fielder who returns to the coach to start again.
Fielders must run to a different station after their fielding, but in random order (ie not clockwise or anti-clockwise) They must communicate with each other as if a station is left unmanned, the team loses a point.
Play to a set score, say 10 points.
Fielders get a point for hitting a stump or exceptional fieldding or backing up.
They lose a point for a fumble, having an unmanned station or 2 points if the drill breaks down/has to stop for a bad misfield.
Promotes good ground fielding skills under pressure with added communication and focus required between teammates.
Keep the intensity up and the talking positive and clear.
Better to use Flexi stumps for better continuity. Have single stumps or mix of single and short stumps to add to accuracy of throws. An extra point for hitting these can be given.
