Cut the Angle Drill - Cover and Mid Wicket

DESCRIPTION

Idea of the drill is to have mid wicket and cover cut the angles with mid on/off in behind:

  • Batter hits ball towards mid off or on
  • Cover and mid wicket try to cut the angle and underarm at the stumps for direct hit at bowler's end
  • If the ball ghets to mid off/on, they also throw at bowler's end for direct hit
  • Repeat

COACHING POINTS

  • Walk in on nomral game angle - not cheating towards the bowler's end stumps
  • cut angle from cover/mid wicket, even exaggerate if you don't think you can get it - may save one!
  • Stay low and qucik release at stumps
  • Follow ball towards target on throw
