Stop Bowling beamers
Any advise to stop my 13year old from bowling beamers, getting the ball down to the right level. Child is 1.7 m tall if this has any impacy at all.
Hi Petro,
To help your 13-year-old stop bowling beamers, it's essential to focus on their bowling technique and ensure they have the correct grip and arm action. Here are a few tips and drills that might help:
- Focus on Grip and Release: Ensure your child uses the correct grip, such as the basic grip for fast bowlers, which involves placing two fingers along the seam with the thumb underneath.
- Bowling Arm Position: Encourage a high arm position at the point of delivery. This can help in achieving the right trajectory.
- Practice with Drills:
- Rebound Bowling: This drill encourages a good technique with a high arm and follow-through.
- Corridor Bowling: This drill helps maintain a straight arm path and encourages the bowler to drive energy towards the target.
- Height Consideration: Being 1.7m tall can influence the bowling action, so ensure the run-up and delivery stride are adjusted to suit their height.
