DESCRIPTION

  • Game is played in 3/4 of the pitch
  • Game starts with the white teams goalkeeper
  • Blacks play a high pressing game
  • If they win the ball back they try and score on the counter
  • Whites aim to get the ball in the end zone on the other 3rd of the pitch.

Coaching Points:

  • Can players get into a position to double mark
  • If No.2 receives in the wide area the winger can apply pressure and the attacking midfielder helps to double mark him. The forward moves back in case No.6 drops deep.
  • Timing of the press, as the ball travels
  • The next player covers, whilst the rest compact one side of the pitch
