DESCRIPTION

How to Play:

1. Setup:

  • Mark out a small playing area (e.g., a pitch-length space).
  • Place cones to represent fielders in different positions (e.g., covers, mid-wicket, point, or straight drive).
  • Use a soft cricket ball, tennis ball, or regular cricket ball (depending on skill level).
  • A bowler (or coach) bowls underarm or overarm, or a thrower feeds balls to the batter.

2. How It Works:

  • The batter must aim to hit the ball between the gaps (not at the cones).
  • Award 1 point for hitting a gap and 2 points if the ball reaches the boundary (if playing on a larger field).
  • If the batter hits a “fielder” (cone), they lose a point or swap places with the bowler.
  • Play for a set number of deliveries (e.g., 10–15 balls per batter).

Drill Variations:

  • Timed Challenge: Set a timer for 2 minutes and see how many runs a batter can score by hitting gaps.
  • Field Changes: After every 5 balls, shift the cones to simulate different field placements.
  • Pressure Mode: Add a runner to simulate match situations where quick running between wickets is needed.
  • Bowler Variation: Introduce real bowlers who bowl at different speeds and angles.
