how do i stop a u8 boy day dreaming during the match
Get him intrested in the game, change his position!
Are you training sessions including fun games as well. Keep the boy engadge in the training session as much as possible, eg perhaps when hes not involved get him to be ball boy or give him a role to help you with training etc. Can you offer him 1-2-1 training during training? Theres lots of things to do.
It's fairly natural for some players to be daydreamers when they're that young and it doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't like playing, it just means his mind wanders.
Try calling out his name from time to time to snap him out of it.
If you have the option to play roll-on, roll-off subs I would use that to take him off when his mind drifts off and give him plenty of encouragement (good game/well played etc). If not then use your substitutes to give him a break after 20 minutes and gradually give him longer on the field as the weeks go on.
