defending the space by the goal keeper
Hi Balutmon,
To effectively defend space as a goalkeeper:
1. Positioning: Stay centered between the ball and goal, adjusting your position based on the ballâs distance and angle.
2. Anticipate: Read the play and anticipate crosses or through balls, preparing to come off your line if needed.
3. Control the Box: Communicate with defenders and assertively claim balls within the 6-yard box.
4. Narrow Angles: Step forward to reduce the shooterâs angle, especially in 1v1 situations.
5. Stay Ready: Maintain a balanced stance with knees slightly bent for quick reactions.
This helps the goalkeeper cover more area and react effectively.
I hope this helps,
