I coach an U16 girls team. How can I lift morale after going 1 or 2 goals down?
Hello James, It is important that you are committed and able to lift up the positive factors in the match and that builds on the lessons and can move on by thinking positively. All teams Concede, what matters is how you take it, positive versus negative. But it is important that you show confidence and always motivate the girls and help them through by your commitment no matter how the game is. When they see that you are still as committed and motivated to inspire the girls, they'll end up getting the same dedication and motivation and thus, the girls continue to work regardless of the results and may after the games even at a loss to offer me a smile.
Hello James,
The players look up to you as a leader and role model during the game. Try the positive coaching or comment attitude and also show it on your face. This motivates the team and propel them to put up extra energy into the game.
I have coachedgirls highschool age and I have to say the ladies are very much more able to learn and play than boys at that age For me what has helped is I get to know my girls individually and as a group I ask what is important to them what they hate what they love what they want, At that age they are chainging physiologicaly too and are very aware of imperfections emotional too so how do we get them going well here it goes one I tell them I love them no matter what that I believe in them when no one will that they are special and that is why I chose them over others. then I tell them what is important to me in my life in the game and in all I do. I stress that to do your best always and try to do what others think is impossible I can do or try to do and if they do all their best and try the impossible they will succeed and if they miss the mark then its ok because they did all they could do and at times it is just not possible but more times than not they will achieve it if they wanted very bad
