What are the main reasons a fast bowler may suffer from lateral flexion upon an exaggerated arch of their lower back and head position falling away? Yes a little bit is ok and natural, however in some cases, the bowler's head is not even facing the batsman but rather the ground. Also, in the video below the bowlers wrist position becomes disjointed and ends up almost bowling something between a leg cutter and back of the hand.
Hi Saif,
Falling away at the crease is generally caused by a lack of lower body strength, preventing the bowler from being able to maintain the correct action at the crease.
This often leads to the incorrect wrist position, I would therefore suggest breaking the action down and focussing on the different stages. When you see each stage is being carried out correctly, you can build it up into a wall or into a partner. Please note, this doesn't have to be over 22 yards and instead can be gradually built up.
Hope this helps.
