How can I focus on the ball from the release point to the striking zone?
you should practice you eye by doing this step. 1 wear a helmet and lie on the floor. 2. ask someone to drop a ball towards your helmet. keep your eyes on the ball. I have read an article about the windies cricket on how did they developed the sight on batting and this is one of the best way. lastly make sure you wear helmet all the time on practicing in the nets.

I have found over the years that this is generally a concentration problem. By concentration I mean making sure you watch the ball out of the hand EVERY time. Get into the habit of telling yourself over and over as the bowler turns to begin his run up - "watch the ball out of his hand", "watch the ball out of his hand".
When you realise to aren`t saying that to yourself, you have lost concentration, time to re-focus and begin saying "watch the ball out of his hand" to yourself again. If you aren`t doing this to every ball you face, then you probably aren`t really focusing your concentration on the ball.
