How to improve bowling release point
Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
Hi Aggarwal,
I think that trying to bowl too quick too soon can be a real problem because you concentrate on speed rather than technique.
You could try to copy the action of an elite bowler who has an action similar to you. Work on this using a mirror or reflection in a window.
I think with a technical skill like bowling it is really good to start vey slow and focus on the key coaching points such as having a high front arm and strong leg action. The speed will come, but the most important thing is to get the technique right first and trust that the speed will progress by getting faster and faster the more you practice.
Also have a look at some of the videos in the Sportplan bowling section, they`re excellent!
Good Luck!

Pre-season is the best time to rebuild and refine batting technique without the pressure of match results. This article covers the fundamental batting positions that underpin consistent run-scoring, provides a progressive session framework from shadow batting to live bowling, and highlights the common pre-season mistakes that coaches should avoid.
