How to advance down the pitch and hit over cover?
Dear Sameer
In response to your question, the key points to hitting the ball well successfully over covera are summerised below.
What I will say is that this is quite an advanced skill, and something that will need constant practise to achieve consistency with.
You need to be comfortabel with hitting the ball in the air in a controlled way, as well as have an awareness of the field placings too.
The key oints are%3A
1) Quick feet from the batter are essential when getting to the ball.
2) When advancing down the wicket, batter must aim to keep head as still as possible, and eyes level.
3) Batter needs to be in a still position by the time they make contact, and well balanced.
4) Batter opens the face of the bat, giving themselves room to hit the ball over the off-side.
I have attached a drill to help you get started with this.
Hope it helps!
Tom
