Aim of this drill is to mimic game day and defence trying to play the ball out from the back with effective possession utilising high playing wingbacks (no.'s 2 and 5) and no. 6.. against the oppositions 7, 8,9,10 & 11 (6 defenders , including Goalie vs 5 attackers) Initial instructions are for: Defending team to play the ball into a position where their players can dribble the ball into one of the 3 squares Attacking team win the ball ASAP and score as quickly as possible
1. Can the defending team keep possession if they get stuck? What could they do to help themselves do that? Good movement into space Pass to the advantage of your team mate Come to the ball, especially if the pass is too soft Shield the ball from your opponent OR Open up your body to allow quick movement of the ball in the desired direction Play the way you are facing
