I am doing a football leaders award and was looking for ideas for a technical drill involving dribbling, running with the ball and defending. I am going to be coaching 4/5/6 year olds so any ideas on that would be great.
Hi Stephen,
The key is to start with a simple drill, so your young players can easily understand and focus on the task in hand. It can be difficult to get children as young as that to concentrate, but give them plenty of encouragement.
The drill I have included for you below will get your players focusing on their dribbling and moving in between the cones. You can modify the distance between each cone and how many cones you use judging on your player`s ability; a good place to start would be to put a distance in between each one, and shortening the length of the course.
Please do look at our drills page for more ideas, but we hope that helps!
