The best way is to tell the bowler to bowl on good length area more than 200 balls a day and get the batter to try and reach the ball and hit the ball in to the cover area!

This shot can b played by asking the bowlers to deliver the ball outside off stump at good length area,bowler should bowl just from 120 degree angle mean bit cross to get good angle for cover drive shot,this is much easy way to learn this shot.After enough practice then come to normal.
