hello, my name is ahsan i am a new player of cricket i want to ask how can i hit the ball that bounces and hits on my face?
Dear Ahsan
In response to your question, I feel that it is important you go back to basics before getting too far ahead of yourself. It would be tempting to look at how to play the short ball at head height, though it is more likely the case that you are just getting into the wrong position to play the ball initially.
Remember the following;
* Stay side on when playing the ball
* Step back and across (covering your stumps and using the depth of the crease)
* Make sure you play the ball with high hands when defending
* Watch the ball all the way onto the bat
I have attached a starter backfoot session to get you on your way.
Goodluck!
Tom
