How can I play a better front foot cover drive?

When I play the cover drive shot, I completely misjudge the ball and sometimes I edge to the wicketkeeper, I'm then caught out. How can I improve this?

Firstly practice a few underarms in the net and try to drive it and tour front leg should be placed beside the pitch of the ball and you need to have a top hand grip to drive the ball and if bottom hand comes into play u get caught....
