how can i play lofted shots?

i used to play some lofted shots during net sessions but every time when i try to play lofted shots the bat doesn't middle the ball

Virat kohli did a video on this during the IPL, he said that you should play the shot as normal but instead collapse your back knee as you hit the ball so that your weight is leaning back. This should help you loft the ball on the front foot, hope it helps.

If you keep your front leg straight, as soon as your bat goes past your front knee and you hit the ball you are going to hit the ball in the air. Kohli is achieving the same effect by leaning back. his front leg will be straightened as he leans back and the ball will go in the air.
