I want to know how I will manage my concentration when I am both batting and bowling off spin. I want to give my focus on playing cricket but how I will be able to do both well? Please tell me something.
do in match the thing do in your practice sessions & do in practice thinking as a match.
then would be build your confidence.
switch on , switch off method. When bowler start runup batsman switch on, ball dead switch off. bowler, fielder,.WK Will do same thing.
No one can concentrate for 100% of the time when playing. As Rasheed has already said switch on, switch off.
I always found the following habits helped to improve my concentration.
When I was batting, as soon as the bowler turned to begin his run in, I said to myself "watch the ball out of his hand". It focused my attention on the ball and made me concentrate.
When bowling, as I was returning to my mark, I would mentally go over what the batsman had been doing. Sometimes the last stroke he played, at other times over the last couple of balls or overs to try and identify some weakness. When I reached the mark I would decide what type of ball I wanted to bowl and where I wanted it to land. When I turned around to begin my run I would pick the spot on the pitch where I wanted the ball to land and look at it until I delivered the ball.
Concentration isn`t only needed for batting and bowling. Fielding needs concentration as well and you need to do it well because it is the part of the game that you will spend time doing the most.
When the bowler is running in, you should be saying to yourself "hit it to me" and really mean it. That will make you ready for what ever comes your way.
Concentration is really about making sure that you do these things every ball.
As soon as you realise you aren`t doing them, then you aren`t concentrating.
Hope this helps
