My 14 year old is not able to get enough flight dip and revs with his off spinners. his stock ball is flat and fast through the air.. the various pitch lengths for junior and senior cricket he plays does not help.. any tips or drills to develop the flighted stock ball hitting the good length would be most helpful . thanks for the help
Hi. I would suggest one simple inclusion. Ask him to do spot bowling and he has to ensure he lifts his heel while delivering the ball.. Pivots his hip.. Finishes the action and gets into a comfortable catching position.
Hi Sid,
Here's a really good drill to help your son add some revs, height and dip to his off spin bowling. This encourages spinners to give the ball some flight to entice batters to go for the ball as well as spinning it hard to get the ball to dip.
Similar drills to this can be found under the 'fast and spin bowling' drill category on the Sportplan site.
Hope this helps!
