Hi Karanveer,

Working on top hand grip is something a lot of people look at. I've attached a useful drill which tells you how to improve top hand grip but also bottom hand, hope this helps!

Thanks,

Tim

Hang the ball in a sock and let it swing towards you, using only top hand try connecting the ball, this will increase the top hand usage and slowly progress to bubble feed and later to throw down.

Use only your top hand to lift the bat as exercise while waiting to bat at training or any other time for that matter. Practise lifting the bat with your top hand as pretend you are standing at the crease and are lifting the bat to play a stroke.

Practise playing your shots while holding the bat with your top hand, including cross bat shots. If you find it difficult to practise the shots using only your top hand then it demonstrates how much you need to strengthen your top hand and arm.

When walking out to the crease carry the bat with your top hand, practise you strokes with the top hand on the way to the crease.

The idea behind this is to strengthen the muscles in the top hand and arm so you can control the bat better.

In many cases the bottom hand dominates because that hand and arm are far stronger and you use them more often. You need to train yourself so that the top hand is in control of the bat.

Try the Tai Chi method and do the shots slowly to increase your strength.
