To play leg side balls you will be wanting to ensure that you are watching the ball from the very moment that the ball leaves the bowlers hand, you will then be best at playing off the back foot as it allows you to play any shot that you are able to in the time between the bowler bowling and you receiving the ball, also on the back foot you will be able to see how much spin there is and you can play to that, the bowlers will then start bowling closer to the crease, more yorker length, and then you will be able to play front foot shots, before the bounce
