How do you teach not getting out to lbw
This depends on the maturity / ability of the batter but I use the drill 'know where your stumps are technique' The batter takes their normal guard and then to every ball they receive or play they have to say whether it would have gone on to hit middle, middle and off, off or passed outside off etc. The speed of delivery should be moderate and use of a bowling machine is helpful. The result is the batter gets used to the line and gets to know if they are 'lbw' and they start to correct themselves. This can be mentally quite tiring in the early stages so don't overdo it. Coaching points to look out for Make sure the batter stays balanced is plaaying a correct shot for the delivery
