Cant get the swing through the ball, also help to keep the arm completely straight
Hi Harrison,
To swing the ball, focus more on the ball and seam position rather than necessarily how your arm is when you bowl.
To bowl an out swinger (to the right handed batsman), have the shiny side of the ball on the right and angle the seam slightly towards the slips. This should make the ball swing away from the batsman with conventional swing.
To bowl the in swinger, switch the ball around and have the shiny side on the left and angle to seam slightly towards the leg side.
Swinging the ball is quite a tough skill but with practice, you`ll begin to get a feel of how you can get the best out of your bowling. Sometimes wrist position will make a difference and the weather conditions can also effect the way the ball moves in the air.
I hope this helps
