2day cricket clinic

we are hosting a 2day cricket clinic for children age 8-14years old.any aids drills and idees would be appreciated.

Hi Deon

Having had exerience of running various 2 day cricket clinics, I would suggest the following:

* Try and deliver a variety of batting, bowling and fielding sessions

* Keep the individuals active - they want to be kept busy and to have FUN!!

* Remember - you must include what the players want to do (they are probably paying to be there!)

 

* Porvide an element of routine for the youngsters so they know what to expect from the course, I have found the following to be a success in the past:

 

Morning: Warm up games, Group fielding or skills

 

Mid morning- Focus Groups (depending on coaches numbers) Bating, Bowling or Fielding). Can have different stations and rotate or do a different theme each day.

(Can split up ages if you want too)

Afternoon - Whole group together - 'Test match' over two afternoons, each team bats for an afternoon. Make sure it is conditioned so that simialr ages bat/bowl against each other
