Good day,Am a wicket keepr. What fitness regime i need to do and important fitness components i need to address. It would be of great help to me as a player
Hi Ram,
Rather than strength conditioning wicketkeepers should be concentrating on suppleness, agility, flexibility and improving your reflexes. There is a YouTube video that covers the sort of exercises needed and demonstrates them much better than I could ever explain.
https://[link will be reviewed]
Simple exercises taht could be done easily at home.
Using these exercises and a regular running routine will help with your fitness when you aren`t at training.
As wicket keeping is something that relies a lot on reflexes I would suggest taking up Table Tennis in the off season. It is a great way of not only improving your reaction times, but of also improving your fitness and agility.
It always seems to take ages for links to be reviewed.
Go to Youtube and in the search bar type in:
cricket keeping strength
You should get a video from Ben Scott. There will also be plenty of other videos for wicket keeping on the right.
Hope you find it useful.
