The white player starts the drill by pointing to the player they want to tag.
After having pointed the white player then proceeds to try and catch that player.
Meanwhile the other players have to try and prevent the white player from tagging their man by blocking their way towards the person they want to tag.
The art of screening:
Choose the right moment to set your screen. Push yourself off your player to make them unbalanced and only use your body to block your opponent, remembering to stand still when there is body contact with the attacker.
The two screens:
1. Front screen - Make contact with the front part of the body (you cannot be played).
2. Back screen - Team mates can still pass to you, so when screened get loose from defender immediately.
Handball demands explosive power, repeated sprint ability, and the strength to compete physically for 60 minutes. Sport-specific conditioning develops the athletic qualities that underpin elite performance.
Handball matches are won and lost in critical moments. Mental toughness determines who executes under pressure, who recovers from setbacks, and who maintains concentration throughout 60 intense minutes.
Deception is the great equaliser in handball. Smaller, less powerful players can beat defenders through feints and misdirection. Mastering these skills creates breakthrough opportunities against even the most organised defences.
