Football: Movement Forward & Across Into Position

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* Mark out a square with 4 cones 8yds by 8yds. Goalkeeper starts in the hoop. Then works round cones on the outside. Each time recieves a shot after they have stepped in the hoop with the nearest foot. NOTE: Use cones to make a smaller square if you do not have a hoop  

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* Set up 4 cones in a square in front of the goal with a 5th cone off to the side of the square. Goalkeeper to enter the goal from the side and hit the closest corner. Goalkeeper then moves forward up one side of the square and back through the square on a diagonal to the other back corner Then straight up the other side of the square and around the Server to then shoot and Goalkeeper to save. Once GK has received a shot they take the ball with them and join the back of the shooting line. Server then goes round the back of the line to join the Goalkeeper line.

Two players work with 1 ball. The feeder rolls the ball to the keeper's side. The feed can be made to either side. The keeper should react to the roll and dive in a controlled manner to their side, stretching out to catch the ball and then roll it back to the feeder, ready to start again.

The goalkeeper starts by facing into the goal i.e. away from the ball. The coach throws the ball to anywhere in the goal just after he shouts to the goalkeeper to turn.

4 Goalkeepers working in a square. 1 main goal and 3 others marked with cones.  Goalkeeper 1 plays volley into the Goalkeeper in the opposite goal. Goalkeeper 2 plays ball back to Goalkeeper 1 by rolling the ball on the ground. Goalkeeper one then passes to Goalkeeper 3. Goalkeeper 3 takes a touch and then shoots at Goalkeeper 4 in the main goal.  Rotate clockwise after every sequence and change the start point so that the Goalkeepers get used to receiving from both sides.

Set up 2 squares beside each ther with a goalkeeper in each square. 2 servers set up opposite each square with a ball each. Goalkeepers to start at the back of their square and come to the front of the square to drop back again and receive a ball passed along the ground from the server opposite.  One touch on the ball to take the ball out of the side of the square and then pass the ball diagonally, to the other server.  Goalkeepers to then switch over to the other square.  Repeat several times before switching over the goalkeepers working and servers.

Goalkeeper on knees with hands in ready position. Server 1 plays ball above waist height for the goalkeeper.

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* Two gates at either side of the goal.  Two goalkeepers working.  Servers play ball into hands of the goalkeepers at the same time.  Goalkeeper makes the catch and returns to the server, then receives serve into hands from opposite side.  The goalkeepers get a final shot from original server getting the goalkeeper into a diving catch.

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* 3 goalkeepers start in a gate each and 3 servers serving to one gate each. Servers all play the ball in at the same time, volley or throw in.  Goalkeeper to catch and return to same server. Goalkeeper then finds a different gate to receive a shot from.

GK advances forward and takes short step over the first cone. Server 1 holds the ball as high as possible and out in front with one hand. GK then takes a shuffle step towards the ball and knocks the ball off the servers hand with their top hand. Alternate between both sides.

The keeper and the feeder work in each of the gaps between the poles. The feeder plays the ball at mid-height into the keeper's body. Once the ball has been caught the keeper throws the ball back out and then turns to run between the poles and touch the ground. After touching the ground behind the poles they should then run out to meet the next ball before turning to run between the next set of poles and touch the ground.

Set up a line of equally spaced poles. Keeper starts at the far end and moves quickly in and out between each of the poles in sequence - moving left and then right. Once they move out (to the right) the feeder plays a mid-pace volley into their body. The keeper catches this ball and throws it back out before continuing to move between the poles and catching the next ball.

The keeper jumps sideways over the three gates, and then moves quickly into the center of the goal ready to catch the first feeder's shot which is played high to stretch the keeper. The keeper then plays the first ball back out and moves to meet the second ball which is played hard and low along the ground. The keeper dives to stop this shot, rolls it back out again and then jogs back to the start - ready to repeat again.

The keeper jumps sideways over the three gates, and then moves quickly into the center of the goal ready to catch the feeder's shot. The feeder plays the ball into the keeper who gathers the ball, rolls it back out and goes back to the start - ready to repeat again.
