Cricket: Two Balls - One Keeper

DESCRIPTION

  • Set up the practice as shown.
  • Two balls per group.
  • Two fielders each have a ball and they take it in turns to throw the ball to the wicketkeeper.

    When the wicketkeeper catches the ball they throw the ball back to the same fielder that threw them that ball.

    COACHING POINTS

  • Maintain bent knees through sideways movements - side step.
  • When catching, ensure that the head and body are behind the ball.
  • Make sure that the keeper watches the ball into the hands - on a normal catch the fingers should be pointing down.
  • For more advanced players increase the size of the triangle.
