Bridge Exits. Forward Step

Lie back against the wall bars with feet flat on the floor a sitting distance from the wall. Grasp bars by the ears with a reverse underhand grip. Extend arms to gain bridge shape and forward step to exit.

As previous exercise but lie against wall bars with feet further from the wall and with hips lower. Extend to gain bridge and exit with forward step.

Using a lenght of bench or box pupil lunges to handstand with hands placed on bench ends. Teacher supports at shoulder and catches near leg. Pupil allows momentum to continue and reaches, through a bridge shape, for the floor with the free leg. Teacher releases leg allowing pupil to kick forwards to exit. Teacher lifts pupils shoulders.

Pupil lunges to handstand Teacher supports at shoulder and small of back. Pupil allows momentum to continue and reaches, through a bridge shape, for the floor with the first leg keeping the other leg in the vertical position. Maximum split shape should be gained Teacher supports back and lifts shoulder allowing pupil to kick forwards to exit.

Pupil lunges to split handstand on cross bench or box. One foot take off.

The following leg bends at the knee and a balance, assisted by the teacher, is held. The following leg is raised to form handstand. Exit through forward roll.

Pupil lies on box or block at hip height. Hands are placed on floor in a handstand position. One leg is raised to the vertical, the other remains on the box. The following leg is kept extended and a balance, assisted by the teacher, is held. The following leg is raised to form handstand. Exit through forward roll.

Kneeling on low block or box place hands on floor. Walk on toes to raise hips and kick to split handstand. Exit with forward roll.

Lunge Hand Stand (Bridge exit progression)

Start in 'Y' shape. Take large step and reach forwards with hands. Kick to handstand. Teacher to catch with one arm avioding over balance. Pupil is pushed back to stand.
