DESCRIPTION

Students will run around the track and see how far they can get in 1 minute and 40 seconds, which is the 800metre record. Once the time is up, i will blow my whistle and students must drop a cone where they finished on the track. They will then return to the start again and try to beat their previous distance using the teaching points provided to them.

COACHING POINTS

  • Upright posture.
  • Move our arms forwards and backwards from the shoulders.
  • Use moderate stride lengths, avoid over-striding.
  • Shoulders, head and hands should all be relaxed, tension wastes energy.
