DESCRIPTION

Group of Three Warm-Ups (10 minutes): Students will be placed into groups of three and positioned across the field or gym as shown in the diagram. The first student will perform a locomotor movement ie: rolling, hopping, skipping , jumping, galloping. The second student will perform a non-locomotor movement ie: bending, twisting, balancing, lifting. The third student will perform a stretch or flex-ability movement. Every student will perform their activity for 1 minute and then switch and do the other two movements. The students should do 3 sets of this warm-up. The first time through the students should monitor their exertion levels so they are only going about 50%. The second set should be 75% exertion and the last set should be close to 100%.

Relay Races. (10 minutes)

Variation 1: Students work in groups of three and begin with two members on one side of the field and the other member at the cone directly across from them. The two move across the field doing two footed bunny hops. They must move at the same speed across the entire field. Once they reach the other side the third group member does the same thing with a partner (goes twice in a row). While they're hopping the other group member must run around the outside of the grid to the other side where they will hop across with the partner they haven't gone with yet. The third partner must run around the the other side. The first team to have all 3 members behind one cone are the winners.

Variation 2: Same but this time students hop like frogs between cones.

Variation 3: Same but this time students must bear crawl between cones.

Tic-Tac-Toe (15 minutes):

In their groups of three students line up in front of a tic-tac-toe grid that will be set up with cones. Each student will be assigned a beanbag. Students race out 1 at a time and place their beanbag on a cone. Once they are back to their line the next student on their team can go. Once all three students place their beanbag they can run out one at a time and move their beanbag (one space only). They must not touch their teammates beanbag and after each person gone they must strategize who should run and move their beanbag to an empty location. the first team have 3 of their bean bags lined up in a row are the winners.

Cool down and Sanitization (10 minutes):

Call groups up during the cool down and ensure that every student disinfects their beanbag and that all of the cones the group used for Tic-Tac-Toe have been properly wiped down.

Have the students form a line and perform different movements across the field as a group. Make sure they are all moving at the same speed. Have them do 2 burpees for every break chain in the line that is broken.

Finish by sitting in a circle and lead them or have a student lead them in a stretch.
