i am right handed but play at left wing how can I get better
Hi Pippa,
Playing on the left win can actually be a benefit for right handed players. Having the ability to cut inside will give you a better angle for your shot. Therefore, practice your dribbling and moving from left to right with the ball.
Being on the left, it`s important to understand how your body position can influence your play. Try to run with an open body to be create a greater range of passing with your right hand. It will help you see more of the court too, allowing you to either go down the line or cut inside.
The final way of getting better is quite a simple one - practice with your left hand. Although perhaps not natural, the more practice you get with it, the better you will get. Having the ability to throw with both hands leaves the defenders guessing and allows for a greater range of passing and shooting. There are some great ball skill activities on Sportplan to help develop your left handed play.
Hope this helps!
