Hi, my team played a match yesterday. We have a 2 hours handball session tonight and i'm a bit concerned that players are tired and maybe not as enthusiastic to train. What type of training/what could I do with players tonight?? I'm inclined to do light training session but still want it to be effective and enjoyable. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Indeed, players need some rest after a hard match.
Light warming-up should be enjoyable and effective %3A getting rid of 'bad body products' by moving in a moderate way and some stretching.
Then some sort of matchlike plays that have something to do with teamsports like football, voleyball, benchball, sit handball, are great to relax but not to rest. You can make teams of two or tree players and do a small tournament.
Furthermore technique training%3A mastering new techniques should be OK at such an eveneing. Stress is not too high, not too much physical stress, so OK for tonight.
Tactical moves are also OK. The whole team is involved so not too much physical movement either. Playing through your moves for 20-30 minutes should be OK.
Last but not least %3A train your goalkeeper, because he/she hasn't been doing a lot of running and things so he/she should be able to take some work.
