How the attackers faults is decided

I am looking for any information that could help in preparing a lecture on attackers fault , for instance the criteria , key element for the referees to decide.

Criteria I know of is

  • that the defender has to be in a complete still stand
  • the attacker sees the defender (not the fast break player looking backwards to catch the ball who bumps into the goalkeeper)
  • The defender is in frontal position with his attacker
