DESCRIPTION

  • 2 serving positions.
  • Volley into hands from the 1st serving position, followed by a shot from the edge of the area from the 2nd serving position.

COACHING POINTS

  • GK set position, hands in front of the body for 1st catch and feet either side of the line of the ball, shoulder width apart.
  • Quick feet required to shuffle across the goal to make the 2nd save.

Volley, Low Dive, Long Shot Combination:

  • Server 1 vollies into hands of the GK.
  • Then into a low dive save from a central position from Server 2.
  • Followed up by a final shot from distance at an angle from Server 3.

3 vs 1 Keep ball | Possession

3 vs 1 Keep ball:

Straight forward passing and moving drill with only two touches on the ball.

The blue players off the ball can only receive the ball at one of the four cones in each corner of the area and the red player is trying to intercept the ball.

Working Across the Goal - Recovery | Goalkeeping

Working Across the Goal - Recovery:

  • Have a central line of cones coming out from halfway accross the goal. Two wide Servers.
  • Server 1 strikes the ball into the GK. GK then recovers and makes save from Server 2
  • Server 2 can only serve once the GK passes the middle line to prevent them just shooting into an empty net.

Chest control, spin and pass | Passing and Receiving

Chest control, spin and pass:

Player 1 hand feeds the ball to player 2 at chest height. Player 2 then must control using their chest and thigh so that they can turn and play an instep volley into player 3's hands.
