Handball: large group shooting drill 1

Players take it in turns to dribble out to their cone and then shoot at goal. They must shoot in such a way that it is possible for the keeper to block the ball.

Pass A to space making B. Pass B1 to C - in the meanwhile B1 retreats and comes forward again. Defender 1 comes foward: pass to pivot D when he moves to left or right.

Players work in groups of three (blue players), passing and moving the ball to try and create space for a pass into the pivot (white player). Meanwhile the defender (red) is doing their best to mark the pivot and prevent the space opening up for a pass to the pivot player for a shot on goal!

Pass 4-3-2 to 1 who comes around the back and throws at the goal.

Attackers dribble in the direction of the goal and start to perform a jump shot when they reach the 8 meter line and then throw at the goal. The defender should try and block the shot by positioning themselves between the attacker and the goal.

Pairs start together and play against 2 defenders to score a goal. When the attackers miss, they should take the places of the defenders.

Set up your players up in three equal lines. Only the player at the start of line 1 has a ball. Blue 1 passes to blue 2 who then passes the ball to blue 3 who finished the move with a shot on goal. Every player joins the back of the next line after passing the ball.

This starts off as a 1 vs 1 as the attacking players dribble the ball out around the cone and then run towards goal to beat the defender. However, the attacking players are allowed to make use of the spare man to get past the defender or if they feel that the passing option is being blocked they can go it alone.

Player 1 starts this drill from the right wing and passes to player 2. Player 2 then passes to player 3 who passes to player 4. After they've passed the ball player 2 moves forward, in behind the defense to the right wing position and waits to receive the return pass from player 3 (who was passed to by player 4). To finish the move player 2 has a shot on goal. During this passing process the two defenders press out to put pressure on the pass and player 1 runs across the court to set a screen between the defender and the attackers.
