Ask the children to walk around the room using tiny steps. Then make the children get slower and slower until they stop. Then ask the children to lie down on the floor - perfectly still and walk round taking an imaginary picture.

Put the mats away. Start the practice off by getting the children to go for a run. Then change you voice to speak s-l-o-w-l-y. The children then have to match their movements with the teachers voice. The next part of the practice is for children to find a partner and join hands and walk around together using tiny steps.

Put the mats away. Put markers all over the floor. Start the practice off by asking the children to stand next to a marker and bounce on the spot with their feet together. The next stage is for the children to stretch out - slowly. Then make the children walk around on tip toes.

Put the equipment away. Start by asking the children to demonstrate what you mean by finding space. Ask the children to quickly touch different parts of their body, starting off quickly then getting slower. The next stage is to ask the children to lie down on the floor and slide around in as many diffent ways as possible.

Put the benches away. Ask the children to walk slowly backwards, looking over their shoulders and not bumping into each other. The children must then stop and lay down - very still. The teacher will then move around the class and when they touch a child on the head that child must demonstrate their favourite movement of the lesson.

Put the apparatus away. Ask half the class to observe whilst the other half demonstrate how to travel along the floor on two hands and one foot. Change over.

Put the apparatus away. Discuss the reasons for a cool down with the children - lower heart rate, avoid injury. Ask children to travel on their hands and feet in a bouncing way, before stopping and sitting down. Select a child to be a leader and get the children to follow the leader and teacher to write the letter S. Ask the children what letter did we write ?

Ask children to touch their head, eyes, shoulders and knees. Do this very slowly. Ask children to name the body part or the initial letter of each body part as they touch it. Repeat 2-3 times. After touching the knees or feet, ask children to sit down very slowly.

Ask children to walk around room using tiny steps. Children should gradually become slower and slower until they stop. Sit down and then lie down. Count to ten slowly.
