Calling Turns

Players carry out the commands from the coach. The commands are as follows: Turn Dive left Dive right They must react as quickly as possible.

Goalkeeping

Catching Slalom

Working in twos, with one ball, the keeper must catch the feed into their stomach, throw it back and then backtrack around each pole. After they've run around the pole, taking small and speedy steps they move out ready to take the next feed.

Goalkeeping

Circle Throws

The keeper works their way around the circle and must react to three different types of feed which they must try to catch/stop and then return the feeder. The first feed is a simple chest-height catch. After this first stop the keeper then jogs around two cones before sharply changing direction and diving low to catch the second feed. After this the keeper quickly gets back to their feet and jogs around the next cone before then diving to catch the third feed.

Attacker receiving the ball attempts to take the ball round the goalkeeper. The first server then joins Server 2 line Server 2 who has just run through on goal joins Server 1 line. Depending on group size have two Goalkeepers taking it in turns

Then the opposite goalkeeper starts the drill and a wave of players come in from behind the opposite goal.

Goalkeeping

3 Point Serve

Set up 3 service points around the goal. Make sure one is central and two others either side One GK working. Servers should take it in turns to volley the ball to the working GK. Goalkeeping

3 Point Serve Progression

If decision is to go must accelerate fast into it then put the brakes on giving enough time to react

Goalkeeping

Blocking with Feet in the Goal

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* All the balls are placed in central service point Two servers either side on the angle Ball is played into one of the server on the outside NOTES: The servers on the outside need to be fairly close to the goal to give the goalkeeper the opportunity to get into a blocking position Servers on the outside should ideally hit the ball first time Don't make the angle to wide or the servers will miss the goal near post more often

Goalkeeping

Catch & Move

2 GK's working at the same time. GK's begin between 2 cones, facing eachother. GK gets a shot into hands from a wide server. Then GK goes around the front cone for a shot into dive from a 2nd straight server. Gk's get back up to feet and the drill is reversed.
