Both players will face each other 10 feet apart. They will roll the ball back and forth controlling the basketball with only 1 hand. The basketball should be rolled in a straight line and controlled with the hand the ball was rolled to.
Basic Ball Handling
The basketballs will be rolled back and forth as quick as the players can go. If one of the players fumbles the ball or does not go quick enough and ends up with 2 basketballs. That player will have to do a push up. After the push up the game will continue.
Put the ball on floor and with your dominant hand roll it to opposite side. The hand must be always in touch with the ball. After do it with your non-dominant hand.
Keep the ball in the same hand and dribble around one of your legs.
With weight over one leg out in front of you, rotate the ball around this leg. Repeat for different directions.
Put the ball on floor and with your dominant hand roll the ball forwards and backwarsd at the side of your body. The hand must be always in touch with the ball. After do it with your non-dominant hand.
Start with the ball held in 2 hands in front of you. Bounce the ball between the legs catching it behind your legs. Do not move your toso or legs.
Hold the ball in two hands and bounce the ball between your feet. Catch the ball in both hands again. Familiarisation exercise for the ball.
Hold the ball in both hands and bounce it on the floor. Catch the ball in both hands again. Repeat
Put the ball on floor and with your dominant hand roll it around your legs. The hand must be always in contact with the ball. After do it with your non-dominant hand. Alternate the direction of the circle.
Keeping the ball on the floor and your hand in contact with the ball, roll the ball around one leg and between your legs in a circle.
Players take it in turns to dribble at the cone and then stop right in front of it and dribble all the way around the cone with controlled fingertip dribbles. Once a full rotation has been completed then you move on to the next cone.
Stand with your knees about shoulder-width apart and bend over slightly. With the ball in your right hand, pass it between your legs in a figure eight motion to your left hand. Swing the ball to the front and then pass it from your left hand back to your right hand through your legs. As with all ball handling drills, start slowly and increase your speed as you get more comfortable.
Roll the ball along the ground through your legs changing hands in the process.
Holding your arms straight out in front, use your fingertips to tap the ball quickly from hand to hand. Go from straight out in front of you, to above your head, below your waist and finally behind your back.
Keeping the basketball in one hand, bounce the ball forward and back. Repeat this drill using the other hand.
Wrap the ball around your head then waist then legs, and then work your way back up the body.
Players on the left start with a ball each. Going one player at a time they dribble out into the centre of the court where they meet the defender. The defender should prevent them from moving across the court. Before they get within arm's reach of the defender the attacking player should drive into the key where they have a shot.
Players are lined up in 2 lines near half way. 2 balls in rotation. Player from one line runs out to receive a bounce pass from opposing line, players take a shot.
Player 1 passes to player 2. After passing player 1 sprints cross-court to the cone to try and screen player 3. Player 3 needs to side-step and feint their way past player 1 before then running to the other side to receive the pass on the cone. Player 3 then dribbles inside before passing to player 1 who has the shot.
