DESCRIPTION

The T-Test is used to test individuals agility. Agility is the ability to stop, start and change the direction of the body or body parts rapidly and in a controlled manner. Set Up: Create a T shape with the cones as the diagram suggests. From the bottom cone to the top the distance is 9.2 meters. From the central top cone the two side cones are both 4.6 meters away. To record the efforts you will need something to write on and a stopwatch.

COACHING POINTS

Procedure: The individual starts at the bottom cone. On the auditory signal they run to the first cone and they have to touch the cone with their right hand. While facing forward they then have to sidestep to the cone on the left, their feet are not allowed to cross. Again they have to touch the bottom of the cone this time with their left hand. They then have to sidestep to the right cone again not crossing their feet touching the bottom of the cone with their right hand. They the have to sidestep to the middle cone, not crossing their feet, touching the bottom of the cone with their left hand. They then have to run backwards to the start position to complete the test. The individual has two goes, recording the best time to the nearest 0.1 second. The time will not count if they fail to touch the bottom of the cone, cross their feet when side stepping or fail to face forward for the duration of the test.
