DESCRIPTION

Students will get into groups of 4. They will take it in turns to walk up and jump into the sand pit. To progress the drill they can then add a run up, and the distance for the run up can be increased. After this students can do the full long jump track and in groups aim to beat each others jump. Have one group measuring the jumps. A second group taking note of the scores. Third group jumping. Fourth group watching the jumps and warming up to go next.

For Triple jump students can start from a short distance into the sand pit, placing cones down to indicate where they should be taking their steps before the jump. Increase the run up and distance. Then progress to the full track in groups of 4 again.
