No.

The batter's feet must be inside the square when hitting the ball and they cannot step outside of the square until after the ball has been bowled.

Yes, although a batter must start with 2 feet within the batting square, they may step out the side of the box to strike the ball. A batter may not step out the front or back of the box on either a good or a no ball until they have either struck, missed or let the ball pass. if they they do so, the batter should be declared out.
