16y male and I play left wing. I have good technique when jumping into the field, but when it comes to using my wrist to flick the ball in I over or underestimate where the ball will go.Are there any drills which can improve my aim and control when using my wrist to shoot?(Yes I do shoot in a full motion with my arm)
Hi Martin,
Improving your accuracy and control when using your wrist to shoot in handball is essential for becoming a more effective player. Here are some drills that can help you enhance your aiming and wrist control:
Target Practice:
- Set up targets on the goalposts or wall using tape or cones. Practice hitting those targets with your wrist shots. Start close to the goal and gradually increase the distance as your accuracy improves.
Progressive Shooting:
- Start by shooting with your wrist from a stationary position. Gradually add movement, like a side step or a jump, to simulate game situations. Focus on maintaining your wrist control and accuracy even when in motion.
Partner Passing:
- Have a partner pass the ball to you from various angles and distances. Practice receiving the ball and quickly shooting with your wrist. This will help you adapt to different situations and improve your reaction time.
Solo Wall Passing:
- Find a sturdy wall and practice passing the ball against it with your wrist. Vary the distance and angle of your shots. Focus on the ball's trajectory and your wrist movement.Remember, improvement takes time and dedication. Work on these drills consistently and be patient with yourself.

Hope this helps.
