Call Hand Drill

Coach stands in front of the player and throws the ball. The player moves left and right and catches the ball. However, when the coach throws the ball, they shout "right" or left", and the player must catch the ball with this hand, regardless of what side of the body the ball comes to.

On all fours arch back and then dip back to stretch. Repeat 10 times.

Coach stands in front of the player. Coach throws a low ball to the forehand side. Player steps forward and alternates catching/throwing the ball back to coach and hitting low forehand volley back to coach.

Working on volleys should be incorporated in the early stages of learning tennis It is not purely about volleying well but it is about not being scared of the incoming ball as also playing without the bounce and without the backswing Kids who are introduced to the net game on mini-court find it easier to come to the net also while playing on bigger court so this transition is smoother if the proper approach is taken with smaller court and softer balls

Catch and Dribble Warm Up

Cones are set in front of the player. Coach stands behind the player and tosses the ball over the players' head. Player runs forward, catches the ball on the racquet and run around the cones without dropping the ball.

Catch The Partner

Two players face each other. Players are only allowed to use shuffle steps. Player A tries to move to the side to "break the line" with partner. Player B's goal is to maintain this imaginary line by reacting to opponent's change of direction.

The coach faces the player, with both only using the carioca step. The coach tries to "lose" the player who is trying to stay in line with the coach.

The player faces away from the partner Partner slightly tosses the ball in different directions and says "Go” The player then turns around and tries to "Catch” the ball on the racket

The player grabs loopy medicine ball with dominant hand, and performs circles forward and backward.

Coach has 2 balls: red and yellow. Coach throws one of the balls to the player. If this is yellow ball, player has to catch it after one bounce. If it is red ball, player has to catch it in the air.

Set up a cone on the baseline, and if there is more than one player taking part in the session, you can set up multiple cones to be used, but ensure these are correctly spaced out. Players will use quick footwork to move around the cone in circles.

Cones are set in front of the player who starts on the baseline. The coach rolls the ball from behind the player. Player runs, stops the ball and goes around the cones while controlling the ball with the racquet. In this drill, player works on speed, deceleration and control.

The player and the coach face each other in short distance between them They use 2 balls at the same time One player throws the ball in the air and other player kicks the ball on the ground Players try to maintain exercise without losing the rhythm

Controlled left leg

3 cones are set behind the player. The player then takes one ball and using their left leg jumps back and places the ball on the cone. The player quickly recovers back and repeats this action for the other cones.

Decelerate and turn

Fasten a resistance band to the net post. Walk out until it is stretched as far as possible. Accelerate in towards the net but before the player reaches the net they need to decelerate and turn to run back out.

Diagonal shuttles

Start on one side of the baseline. Cross feet shuttles moving diagonally forward and to the other side. Push off from the outside foot and straight into the next diagonal shuttle.

Distance To The Forehand

Player starts on the baseline. Coach feeds the balls to the forehand side. Player jumps on left leg and executes forehand on left leg.

Drop And Run

The player stands in one corner of the court, with the coach on the opposite side of the baseline. The coach drops the ball from shoulder height and the player must sprint across the baseline and hit the ball, before returning to their starting position.

Dynamic Hamstring stretch- 3 Spots on the Ground

Player takes position with straight legs wide apart. Player bends over and touches the ground in 3 spots: Next to the right leg Between the legs  Next to the left leg.

Cones are set on both sides of the player Player starts with performing 3 front cross-over steps on each side while moving to the cone After 6 reps, player performs 3 back cross-over steps on each side while moving to the cone
